Godzilla: Monster of Monsters! is an NES action game developed by Compile, released by Toho in Japan in 1988 and the U.S. in 1989. Starring iconic kaiju Godzilla, it lets players control Godzilla and Mothra to fend off alien invaders from Planet X and their monster army. Featuring a board-style map, players move characters across planets to enter side-scrolling levels and battle enemy kaiju. Each planet has unique foes: Gezora and Moguera on Earth, Varan on Mars, Hedorah on Jupiter, etc. The final boss is three-headed dragon King Ghidorah on Planet X. Blending action and strategy, battles must be won within 40 seconds or end in a draw. Cheat codes exist too—entering "DESTR0Y ALL M0NSTERS" on the password screen unlocks a special mode where Godzilla and Mothra fight all monsters on Earth at once. With unique gameplay and faithful adaptation of the Toho kaiju universe, Godzilla: Monster of Monsters! is a beloved NES classic.
