The Adventures of Kid Kleets is a side-scrolling platform game developed by Krisalis Software. First released for the Amiga in 1993, it was later ported to multiple platforms including the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), with its North American SNES release retaining the title The Adventures of Kid Kleets.
The story follows Kid Kleets, a young soccer fan. Evil alien pirate Scab tries to steal Earth’s World Cup trophy, but crashes into a satellite while escaping, shattering the trophy into five pieces scattered across the globe. Players control Kid Kleets to travel the world, find and collect all trophy fragments to restore the World Cup.
Kid Kleets’ main weapon is a soccer ball. Players can use it to perform moves like kicking, juggling, and shooting to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. The game features varied levels set in cities such as London, Moscow, Rome, and Tokyo, each with unique enemies and challenges.
With cartoon-style graphics and sound, the game suits players of all ages. While its controls take some practice, its unique soccer theme and rich level design made it stand out in the 16-bit gaming era.
