ActRaiser is an action city-building game developed by Quintet and published by Enix (now Square Enix) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990. It cleverly blends side-scrolling action and city-building simulation gameplay. Players take on the role of "The Master", fighting in warrior form to defeat monsters and free land, then guiding humanity in angel form to rebuild homes and develop civilization. The game's soundtrack, composed by renowned composer Yuzo Koshiro, is widely acclaimed. In 2021, a remake titled ActRaiser Renaissance was released, retaining the original's essence while upgrading graphics, adding new storylines, levels and music to deliver a fresh experience for players.
