Yoshi's Egg (Japanese: Yossy no Tamago, US: Yoshi, EU: Mario & Yoshi) is a puzzle game developed by GAME FREAK and published by Nintendo. First released on December 14, 1991, for NES and Game Boy, it stars Yoshi, the green dinosaur from the Mario franchise, and is the first title in the Yoshi series. Gameplay is similar to Tetris: players control Mario to move four platforms at the bottom of the screen to catch falling enemies and eggshells, matching identical ones to clear them. It features single-player and two-player versus modes, testing reaction speed and strategic thinking.
