SD Gundam G Generation DS is a tactical RPG released by Bandai for the Nintendo DS on May 26, 2005. As the first NDS entry in the SD Gundam G Generation series, it retells the story of *Mobile Suit Gundam: Cross Dimension 0079* from the Principality of Zeon’s perspective, offering a fresh take on the classic narrative. Players follow Zeon forces through key battles and experience story beats distinct from previous series titles.
The game features multiple branching story paths, including the Universal Century route, Heisei Gundam route, and a hidden enemy route, letting players shape the plot through their choices. New original characters are also introduced, such as the young woman Dee Triel, plus her lookalikes Legion and Norma Regio, adding fresh layers to the story.
Due to NDS cartridge storage limits, some iconic mobile suits and pilots are absent from the game. Even so, SD Gundam G Generation DS remains a fan favorite in the series, thanks to its unique Zeon viewpoint, rich branching storylines, and new cast. For a period after the follow-up title *CROSS DRIVE* launched, this game even commanded higher prices on the secondhand market, a clear sign of its enduring popularity.
