Pro Yakyuu Family Stadium is a baseball game developed and published by Namco for the Nintendo Famicom on December 10, 1986, as the first entry in the Family Stadium series. It was a huge hit in Japan with around 2.05 million copies sold, featuring 10 teams (each with 12 fielders and 4 pitchers), cute rounded character designs, and a unique pitcher-batter focused view with first and third base angles for immersive gameplay. An upgraded version, Pro Yakyuu Family Stadium '87, launched in 1987 with 12 total teams. The classic series has spawned many sequels across platforms like the Super NES, Game Boy, and Nintendo 64.
