Operation Wolf is a single-player light gun shooter game released by TAITO in 1987. Players take on the role of a special forces operative who infiltrates an enemy military base to rescue hostages and escort them to safety. The game features six levels: Communication Post, Jungle, Village, Arsenal, POW Camp, and Airport. Players primarily use an Uzi submachine gun and grenades as weapons, and can pick up items like ammo clips, grenades, and health potions during gameplay to replenish ammunition or restore health. It uses a health system where enemy attacks reduce stamina, and the game ends when stamina runs out. Set in the humid jungles of South America, players face various enemies including infantry, armored vehicles, and helicopters. Its high realism and intense combat made it one of the most popular arcade games of its time.
