Game Overview

Nekketsu Street Basketball is a standout sports title in the Kunio-kun (River City) lineup, offered here as the Simplified Chinese edition patched by AXI AHE and praised as a Famicom sports masterpiece. It uses a two-versus-two format with multi-tier hoops, and matches unfold across themed locations such as New York, Las Vegas, and Hawaii, dripping with street-ball attitude and rebellious energy.

Core Gameplay

You battle on courts with stacked baskets where shooting, dunking, and defense all come into play. If your aim is off, you can simply slam the ball in, or even knock opponents flat before calmly taking your shot. Controls are responsive and the pacing is frantic, capturing the freedom and chaos of underground street basketball. Quick steals and flashy dunks keep every possession exciting and unpredictable.

Violent Basketball and Localization

The signature twist is 'violent basketball': during play you can grab props to strike rivals and forcefully steal the ball, turning the sport into a raucous brawl. A slot-machine bonus minigame and a wide roster of teams add variety and replay value.
