Kings of the Beach - Professional Beach Volleyball is a beach volleyball game launched by Electronic Arts in 1988. Initially released for Commodore 64 and MS-DOS, it was later ported to NES by Konami in 1990. Players take on the roles of legendary beach volleyball athletes Sinjin Smith and Randy Stoklos, competing against top players on beaches worldwide to claim the "King of the Beach" title. The game features three modes: Practice, Single Match, and Tournament. In Tournament mode, players compete across five iconic beaches in San Diego, Chicago, Waikiki, Rio de Janeiro, and Australia, facing opponents of increasing difficulty. With simple, intuitive controls, players master core moves like serving, passing, spiking, and blocking. It also includes a "contested call" feature, where players can challenge referee decisions—calls may be overturned, but excessive protests lead to point penalties. Supporting up to 4 simultaneous players, the game boosts interactivity and fun.
