Joshua and the Battle of Jericho is a Christian-themed puzzle game developed and published by Wisdom Tree in 1992. Based on the Israelites' siege of Jericho in the biblical Book of Joshua, players take on the role of Israelite leader Joshua to lead his people to capture the city. It first launched on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), then was ported to Game Boy, MS-DOS, Sega Genesis, and other platforms. In the game, players control Joshua, using sound waves from a shofar to attack enemies and destroy obstacles, while collecting loot such as gold, silver, bronze, and iron to meet each level's objectives. It features 100 levels, 100 quiz segments, and 10 bonus levels. After each level, players must answer five multiple-choice questions about the Book of Joshua, with correct answers granting extra lives. Considered a sequel to the 1991 game Exodus — itself an adaptation of the 1989 title Crystal Mines — this installment adds a password feature allowing players to revisit completed levels. Its design and gameplay are similar to Exodus, with improvements to its theme, graphics, and mechanics. Difficulty ramps up gradually, requiring players to cleverly solve puzzles and avoid traps and enemies to beat the game. Thanks to its unique religious theme and puzzle gameplay, Joshua and the Battle of Jericho stood out among Christian games of its era.
