Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei 2 is a Famicom sports game released by SunSoft in Japan on March 26, 1993. Adapted from Tetsuhiro Koshita’s manga and anime series of the same name, it follows protagonist Danpei’s growth and challenges in dodgeball.
Building on its predecessor’s gameplay, players control a 7-player dodgeball team: 4 main players on the central court, 3 support players around the opponent’s side. Use passing, throwing, and dodging to defeat rivals and win matches. Each team member has unique stats and special skills—mastering them is key to victory.
The game offers multiple modes: a story mode following the anime plot, 1-player and 2-player versus modes, and a tournament mode for up to 6 teams. A training mode helps players master controls and techniques. With rich content and faithful adaptation of the original work, Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei 2 became one of the most popular sports games of its era.
