Goal!! is a soccer simulation game released by Jaleco for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1988. It features multiple modes including World Cup, tournament, league, shootout, and versus, supporting single-player, two-player co-op or competitive play. The objective matches real soccer: outscore opponents to win.
Players can choose from 25 national teams. Since the game has no official team or league license, jersey colors are not authentic.
It uses a top-down perspective with large player and goal sprites, smooth animations, and well-crafted music and sound effects. Multiple formations are available, and players pick 11 starters from a 15-man squad.
A classic soccer title, Goal!! was beloved by players at the time and laid groundwork for later soccer games.
