Field Combat is a 1985 shooter developed and published by Jaleco, first released for arcades and later ported to the Famicom by Tose. Players command the Genesis-3 warship, battling enemy red forces across futuristic battlefields.
The core goal is to pilot the warship, destroy enemy helicopters, infantry and tanks, and reach the battlefield’s end. Players fire missiles to attack, plus use a unique "Absorption Wave" to absorb enemy units and turn them into allied forces to boost strength. Pressing A and B together summons allied reinforcements.
Its background music uses Richard Wagner’s "Ride of the Valkyries", adding an epic battle atmosphere.
