F-1 World Grand Prix is a racing simulation game developed by Paradigm Entertainment and published by Video System. It was first released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998, based on the 1997 F1 season with 17 tracks and 22 drivers (2 hidden). Due to licensing issues, champion Jacques Villeneuve is replaced by "Driver Williams".
It features 5 modes:
- **Grand Prix Mode**: Full 1997 season simulation.
- **Exhibition Mode**: Single race.
- **Time Trial Mode**: Fastest lap challenge.
- **Challenge Mode**: Relive classic 1997 moments, like playing as Damon Hill chasing victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix, or overtaking Jean Alesi as David Coulthard at the Italian Grand Prix.
- **2-Player Mode**: Split-screen head-to-head racing.
Players can tune cars pre-race (tires, fuel, wing angle, etc.). The game also simulates real racing effects like real-time tire wear, skid marks, and exhaust flames.
It received positive reviews upon release and is regarded as one of the best racing simulators of its era.
