Downtown Nekketsu March: Super-Awesome Field Day! is a high-energy action-sports game released by Technōs Japan in 1990 for the Famicom. Part of the beloved Kunio-kun series, the game follows the Nekketsu High School team and their rivals through a chaotic athletic competition. Unlike standard sports games, players can attack opponents and use various weapons during events like the Cross-Country Race, Obstacle Room, and the Survival Battle. Supporting up to four players simultaneously, the game is famous for its 'no-holds-barred' approach to competition. It later inspired several remakes, including a PlayStation 3 version, but the 8-bit original remains a fan favorite for its blend of slapstick humor and competitive brawling.
