Buck Bumble is a third-person shooter developed by Argonaut Games and published by Ubisoft, released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. Set in 2010 London, a chemical plant leak mutates local insects into "The Herd," a villainous group aiming to take over gardens and the world. Players control Buck, a mechanized wasp in the Resistance, fighting these mutant bugs.
The game features 19 missions where players fly and battle in 3D environments, using 11 weapons like stun guns, lasers, rocket launchers, and missile launchers. Some missions require placing bombs without collisions. Two multiplayer modes are included: aerial combat "Buck Battle" and soccer-like "Buzz Ball," where players push a giant ball into the opponent’s goal while attacking rivals.
The soundtrack, composed by Justin Scharvona in speed garage style, is known for its catchy main theme rhythm. Despite graphical and framerate limitations, its unique setting and gameplay earned it a dedicated fan following.
