Play AD&D: Heroes of the Lance (Action-Adventure Beta) Online Free

This developmental version of Heroes of the Lance offers a glimpse into the adaptation of the complex AD&D ruleset to the NES. Players lead eight iconic heroes through the depths of Xak Tsaroth to face the black dragon Khisanth. Each character serves as a 'life,' with the next hero stepping in upon the current one's death. The game combines platforming with strategic character management, requiring players to utilize magic, healing, and brute force at the right moments. This title represents one of the earliest attempts to bring high-fantasy tabletop RPG mechanics into an 8-bit action format.
