Rally Bike is an arcade racing game developed by Toaplan and published by Taito in 1988. Players ride a motorcycle across U.S. tracks, racing AI opponents in a top-down view across 6 increasingly hard levels. You must overtake a set number of rivals, dodge obstacles, and refuel at gas stations—fuel management is critical, as running out ends the game. Helicopters occasionally drop power-ups like boosters or escort riders to gain an edge. First released in arcades, it was later ported to the NES by Visco Corporation and Sharp X68000 by SPS. The NES version adds a shop system where players buy upgrades after each race. It received mixed reviews on release: some praised its graphics and gameplay, while others criticized later level design flaws.
