Racket Attack is a 1988 NES tennis game developed by Tose and published by Jaleco. Released in Japan as *Moero!! Pro Tennis*, it is the second entry in the "Moero!!" sports series. It uses a quarter overhead view, with the score always displayed above the court and white, pink, and red spectators in the stands. The North American version is endorsed by Wilson Sporting Goods.
The game offers single-player and two-player modes. In single-player, players compete in seven matches of increasing difficulty to win the championship trophy. Two-player mode lets two players play an exhibition match. Players can choose grass, clay, or hard courts, and opt for women’s best-of-three or men’s best-of-five matches.
There are 16 characters total: 8 male and 8 female players, each with unique strengths and weaknesses. Male players only face male opponents, and female players only face female opponents. A password system lets players save progress and select levels between the second and final matches. Players can use six tennis techniques including lobs, volleys, and slices. The camera shifts slightly to a behind-the-shoulder view during serves. Women’s matches are typically shorter than men’s, and players have distinctive names like "Gibbco" and "First". On the NES controller, the A button is mainly used for forecourt shots, and the B button for backcourt shots. Players can also challenge referee calls.
Racket Attack is regarded as an overall improvement over early NES tennis games, offering a wide roster and deep gameplay. Allgame gave it a 4 out of 5 rating.
