PROTO DERE .NES is an 8-bit pixel-style hardcore platformer developed by Darius Immanuel D. Guerrero and published by AppSir Games. Released on January 28, 2019, it is part of the AppSir Games series. Set in a burning underground mine, players control a character to escape danger and experience rebirth from despair. It is considered the predecessor to the modern games DERE .EXE and DERE EVIL .EXE. The original PROTO DERE .NES cartridge was reportedly undiscovered for 33 years until a Facebook user found it and uploaded the ROM file online. Despite some glitches, players can still enjoy this classic at home via emulators. Note that after installing this DLC, the game file will appear in the DERE EVIL EXE installation directory. Players can find it by right-clicking DERE EVIL EXE in their game library, selecting "Properties", going to the "Local Files" tab, and clicking "Browse Local Files". There is also a hidden Easter egg involving talking to a pair of eyes waiting to be discovered.
