Bases Loaded II: Second Season (Japanese: Moero!! Pro Yakyuu '88 Ketteiban) is a baseball simulation game developed and published by Jaleco for the Nintendo Famicom on August 10, 1988. As the second entry in the Bases Loaded series, it retains the original’s signature features while adding key improvements. The game uses a unique pitcher’s perspective, letting players view the action from behind the mound for a TV-broadcast-style experience. It also introduces a biorhythm system with three stats—Physical (P), Sensitivity (S), and Intellectual (I)—that directly impact player performance during matches. Graphically, it runs on an upgraded engine for more realistic, detailed visuals. Early versions had programming bugs, such as automatic strike calls on the pitch after a foul ball regardless of actual location; these issues were fixed in later revisions. A hit in Japan, Bases Loaded II: Second Season sold over 1.5 million copies. Despite its technical flaws, its innovative camera angle and gameplay mechanics made it one of the most popular baseball games of its era.
