Kyuukyoku Harikiri Stadium is a baseball game released by Taito on June 28, 1988 for the Nintendo Famicom. As the first entry in the series, it features single-player, two-player versus, and home run contest modes to suit different players.
The game includes 13 teams: 12 are based on real Japanese teams, while the 13th "Idol Team" is made up of popular female idols and models of the era, adding fun to the gameplay.
In terms of gameplay, it uses popular perspective designs of the time: a third-person view for pitching and batting, switching to a top-down view after the ball is hit to help players observe the entire field.
Additionally, it introduces a player growth system. Players can get passwords after winning in single-player mode to boost player stats, enhancing replayability and engagement.
With its rich game modes and innovative design, Kyuukyoku Harikiri Stadium became one of the most popular baseball games of its time, laying a solid foundation for subsequent series entries.
