F-1 World Grand Prix is a racing simulation game developed by Paradigm Entertainment and published by Video System, first released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. Based on the 1997 Formula One World Championship, it features all 17 tracks and 22 drivers from that season (including two unlockable hidden drivers), though Jacques Villeneuve and the MasterCard Lola team are omitted due to licensing issues. The game offers five modes: Grand Prix mode, which simulates the full 1997 season; Exhibition mode for single races; Time Trial mode for racing against the clock; Challenge mode, which recreates real 1997 season scenarios like playing as Damon Hill to win the Hungarian Grand Prix; and Two-Player mode for split-screen competition. Players can adjust car settings before races, including tire type, fuel load, and wing angle. The game also simulates weather changes and their impact on races. Due to licensing restrictions, Williams driver Jacques Villeneuve is replaced by a generic driver whose name players can customize. Upon release, the game received positive reviews and is regarded as one of the best racing simulators of its time.
