ECW Hardcore Revolution is a professional wrestling video game published by Acclaim Entertainment in 2000, based on the Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) promotion. It was released on multiple platforms including Nintendo 64, PlayStation, Game Boy Color, and Dreamcast.
Built on the engine of Acclaim’s earlier WWF Attitude, the game features various match types such as 3-Way Dance, Death Match, Tornado, Lumberjack, and Battle Royal. Players can choose from over 40 ECW superstars, including Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Mike Awesome, and Francine.
One of the game’s highlights is commentary by ECW’s Joey Styles, which delivers an authentic match atmosphere. Real crowd cheers and boos are also included to boost immersion. Players can create custom wrestlers and compete in multiplayer matches with up to three friends.
While the game stands out for its roster and match modes, it received mixed reviews upon release due to its high similarity to the previous WWF Attitude, as it failed to fully capture ECW’s unique style.
