Harvest Moon 2 is a farm simulation game developed by Victor Interactive Software and published by Pack-In Soft. It first launched in Japan on February 5, 1999, for the Nintendo 64. Players take on the role of a young boy who inherits his grandfather's run-down farm, with the goal of restoring it to prosperity within three years. This title brings many improvements and expansions over its predecessor. Sheep farming is newly added, enriching the variety of livestock available. The game also introduces a backpack and tool upgrade system, allowing players to carry multiple tools without frequent trips home to swap them, boosting gameplay convenience. The social system is enhanced too: players can interact more deeply with townsfolk, triggering diverse events and festivals that add fun and replay value. Various contests and seasonal activities further enrich daily in-game life. Praised for its rich content and high-freedom gameplay, Harvest Moon 2 has earned high acclaim from players and media alike. IGN gave it an 8.2/10 score, noting it stands out among simulation and management games.
