Bassmasters 2000 is a fishing simulation game developed by Mass Media and published by THQ, released for Nintendo 64 on December 16, 1999. It features four core modes: Exhibition, Tournament, Speed Fishing, and Casting Game. Players can create and save up to seven anglers, customizing gender, hairstyle, facial features, and outfits. The game also lets players adjust lake conditions (location, season, weather, time of day, etc.), boat types (model, engine, etc.), and fishing gear (rods/reels, line, lures, etc.). In Exhibition mode, players can use all customization options freely, aiming to catch a set number of fish with total weight meeting or exceeding the target. Tournament mode has six three-day events; players fish within time limits and are ranked by total weight. A top-5 finish in the final tournament unlocks new gear or boats. Speed Fishing challenges players to catch as many target fish as possible in three minutes, with fish weight extending fishing time, aiming to fish as long as possible. In Casting Game, players cast lines at colored target zones in the lake within a time limit; hits earn points, high scores grant extra time, and target patterns change. The game has well-designed controls, simulates real fishing experiences and fish behavior, and delivers realistic visuals of lakes and fish.
