The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) is widely considered the golden age of RPGs. With its enhanced graphics, sound, and storytelling capabilities over the NES, developers created some of the most memorable role-playing games ever made.

Why SNES RPGs Are Still Great

SNES RPGs hold a special place in gaming history. They were among the first games to tell truly complex stories with memorable characters, branching narratives, and emotional depth. The 16-bit art style has aged beautifully, and the turn-based combat systems remain engaging decades later.
